South Korean leads; U.S. teen is second World bronze medalist Kim Yu-na of South Korea led the women's field in the Grand Prix Final figure skating competition despite an error, while 14-year-old American Caroline Zhang was a surprise second Friday at Turin, Italy.
World silver medalist Mao Asada of Japan skipped a jump and landed in last place, just ahead of U.S. champion Kimmie Meissner, who was fifth after under-rotating her triple-triple combination.
Kim, defending her GP title, had a season-best 64.62 . Italy's Carolina Kostner was third.
Zhang scored a season-best 61.82. "Really surprised," Zhang said of her placement in her first international seniors appearance.
In the men's event, Japan's Daisuke Takahashi took the lead. Switzerland's Stephane Lambiel was second.

Woods takes four-shot lead Tournament host Tiger Woods shot a 10-under-par 62 on Friday, setting the course record at Sherwood Country Club and took a four-shot lead over Jim Furyk in the Target World Challenge at Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Playing for the first time in 10 weeks, Woods sank a long putt for eagle on the par-5 11th and was at 13-under 131 as he tries to win his tournament for the fourth time. The previous record of 63 was held by three players, most recently Michael Campbell in 2005.
Masters champion Zach Johnson birdied the last three holes for a 67 and was another shot behind.
• Lisa Hall shot a 3-under-par 69 to take a one-stroke lead over fellow Brit Laura Davies at 8-under 136 after the second round of the Ladies European Tour's Dubai Ladies Masters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Davies had a 70.
Sweden's Louise Stahle was tied for third with Italy's Veronica Zorzi (68) at 6 under. Defending champion Annika Sorenstam shot her second consecutive 70. Natalie Gulbis missed the cut with rounds of 77 and 75.
• James Kingston shot a 3-under 69 in Paarl, South Africa, to take a one-stroke lead over fellow South African Andrew McLardy and Wales' Kyron Sullivan after the second round of the South African Open.

Bode Miller is second Bode Miller was second in a super-G World Cup event at Val Gardena, Italy, finishing 0.02 seconds behind Didier Cuche of Switzerland.
• Americans Eric Bernotas and Katie Uhlaender posted decisive victories Friday in the World Cup skeleton races at Lake Placid, N.Y. Bernotas totaled 1 minute, 48.98 seconds for two runs. Uhlaender won the women's race in 1:52.60.

Swimming: Laszlo Cseh of Hungary broke his own world record Friday in the 400-meter individual medley event, his second world record in two days. He won in 3 minutes, 59.33 seconds at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. Cseh set his previous record of 4:00.37 in Trieste, Italy, in December 2005. On Thursday, Cseh won the 200 individual medley in a world-record 1:52.99.
Soccer: Marcus Tracy scored twice as Wake Forest's men's soccer team beat Virginia Tech 2-0 in Cary, N.C., to reach the championship game in the NCAA Men's College Cup. Wake Forest will play Friday night's Massachusetts-Ohio State winner on Sunday.
Track: The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency suffered its first defeat in a case brought to arbitration when a three-person arbitration panel ruled in favor of sprinter LaTasha Jenkins, who had been sanctioned for using the anabolic steroid nandralone.
