Bernard keeps up his record run That's three world records in three days for French swimmer Alain Bernard.
Bernard set a world record in the 50-meter freestyle Sunday, after twice lowering the 100 freestyle mark at the European swimming championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
He finished in 21.50 seconds Sunday, beating the record of 21.56 set last month by Eamon Sullivan of Australia. Before Sullivan, the record went back to June 16, 2000.
Bernard set a world record of 47.50 seconds in winning the 100 freestyle final Saturday. That took one-tenth of a second off the record of 47.60 he swam Friday in the semifinals.
• Sophie Edington lowered a day-old world record in the women's 50-meter backstroke Sunday at the Australian Olympic trials. She finished in 27.67 seconds, breaking the mark of 27.95 set by Australian teammate Emily Seebohn in the semifinals Saturday.

Serbs win titles in Pacific Life Open Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic, 20-year-old Serbs who have established themselves among tennis' top players, won Pacific Life Open titles Sunday in Indian Wells, Calif.
No. 3 Djokovic ended American Mardy Fish's string of upsets at Indian Wells with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 victory, and No. 2 Ivanovic cruised to a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Svetlana Kuznetsova in the women's championship match.
Despite the loss, Fish, a 26-year-old former Minnesotan who is ranked 98th, had a remarkable run at Indian Wells. He upset No. 4 Nikolay Davydenko and No. 7 David Nalbandian before stunning top-ranked Roger Federer in the semifinals.
