A speeding motorcyclist crashed and died late at night near Red Wing, Minn., authorities said Wednesday.
The wreck occurred about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday on Sturgeon Lake Road about three-fourths of a mile west of the Treasure Island Resort & Casino, police said.
The motorcyclist was taken by emergency medical responders to a Red Wing hospital, and he died there, according to police. The 23-year-old rider has yet to be identified.
"The driver was wearing their helmet, and speed appears to be a factor in the crash," the statement said.
