State Patrol identifies speeding motorcyclist who died in crash in downtown Minneapolis

The crash happened late at night over the weekend, according to the patrol.

A speeding motorcyclist crashed on a downtown Minneapolis highway ramp and died, officials said Monday.

The wreck occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday on the N. 3rd Street ramp to westbound Interstate 94, the State Patrol said.

The motorcyclist, Paul Calderon Cabrera, 21, of Spring Lake Park, was “traveling a very high rate of speed” when he crashed, a patrol statement read.

Calderon Cabrera was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
