A speeding driver crashed his SUV just south of Lake Phalen in St. Paul and died early Monday, authorities said.
The high-speed wreck occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Johnson Parkway and Maryland Avenue, police said.
The driver, a 23-year-old man from St. Cloud, was thrown from the wreckage, according to police. His identity has yet to be released.
Officers responding to the scene took turns providing chest compressions to the man until emergency responders arrived and pronounced the man dead.
