Twins center fielder Denard Span has been cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, he said today in a text message to the Star Tribune.

Span, who's been out since June 6 with a concussion, said he's not sure where or when he'll be playing, but he has passed the requisite tests MLB administers before clearing players to begin rehab assignments.
