MAY 6

Child found. Someone reported finding 4-year-old child walking in the park without an adult in the 7800 block of Maple Hill Road. The caller returned the child to the mother. An officer found that the child had been left in the care of another person and the mother was unaware the child was out walking alone.

MAY 14

Theft. A rock was reported stolen from property on the 9300 block of Bechtold Road. The caller said a large rock was taken from the property without permission. An officer attempted to contact a neighbor but was unsuccessful. The caller phoned back later to say they had spoken with the neighbor and the rock has been returned.

INDEPENDENCE

MAY 7

Alcohol violation. A 19-year-old Plymouth man was cited for possession of alcohol at Pioneer Creek Golf Course, 705 Copeland Road.

MAPLE GROVE

MAY 3

Welfare check. Someone called police to report people running around and yelling at each other on 99th Place N. and Union Terrace Lane. Officers found a group of people playing football.

MAY 4

Animal complaint. Officers responded to the 9800 block of 107th Place on a report that a squirrel chased a child twice. The squirrel was relocated.

MAY 10

Fire. Officers responded to a report of a garage that was filling with smoke on Hermitage Trail. It was found to be coming from a bucket of cigarette butts, which was moved outside. There was no damage.

NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA

MAY 6

Underage consumption. An 18-year-old Norwood Young America woman was cited for underage drinking on the 500 block of Morse Street.

MAY 7

Underage consumption. A 19-year-old Carver man was cited for underage drinking on the 300 block of Washington Street.

PLYMOUTH

MAY 4

Theft. Cigars were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 4900 block of Peony Lane.

MAY 8

Drugs. A 43-year-old New Hope man was cited for possession of marijuana after he was found sleeping in his vehicle at 45th Avenue and Hwy. 169 Frontage Road.

RICHFIELD

MAY 17

Drunken driving. A 36-year-old Richfield man was arrested for drunken driving after he crossed the road, driving into a yard and hitting a parked vehicle on the 7300 block of 14th Avenue S. He attempted to flee the scene of the accident but was captured.

MAY 18

Drugs. A Minneapolis man, 18, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of a hypodermic needle after officers observed a suspicious vehicle on the 7400 block of 4th Avenue S.

MAY 21

Drugs. Officers responded to Motel 6, 7640 Cedar Av. S., on a report of a disturbance. A Minneapolis woman, 33, was arrested for possession of cocaine.

MAY 22

Theft. A rock, valued at $3,800, was stolen from Enchanted Rock Garden, 6445 Lyndale Av. S.

ST. BONIFACIUS

MAY 8

Child found. Officers responded to Cross Bar, 4124 Main St., on a report that a passerby found a toddler on County Road 92. He had walked away from his home when his mother went to the parking lot to take out the trash. The 2-year-old boy was reunited with his 29-year-old mother.
