The body of a 16-year-old boy from Fairmont, Minn., was pulled from a Martin County lake Wednesday afternoon after an apparent drowning, the fourth such tragedy in Minnesota in the past few days.

Chasen Lee Degrote was swimming with friends on Sisseton Lake when he disappeared below the surface around 1 p.m., authorities said. Divers recovered Degrote's body about 90 minutes later, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.

Three people drowned in metro-area lakes over the weekend, including a 7-year-old girl who had been swimming at a lake in Bloomington on Sunday. Two women died Saturday while boating or swimming on lakes in Minneapolis and Orono.
