Ken Barlow at mental health awareness event
Local meteorologist Ken Barlow will speak at a mental health awareness event aimed at parents, students, teachers and other community members.
The free event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 at Hosanna Church Chapel at 9600 163rd St. in Lakeville. Enter door five to get to the chapel.
The evening is sponsored by Dakota County Healthy Communities Collaborative. After Barlow speaks, there will be a panel discussion.

St. Thomas Academy
Rifle team named national champions
The St. Thomas Academy rifle team has been named "Sporter Standing National Champions" by the National Rifle Association.
Competitions took place at the state level earlier this year, and scores were tallied this summer, with the Cadets earning first place.
Members of the team were Tyler Johnson, Madden Chapman, Patrick Cramer, Sam Supplee and Nicholas Caspers. Paul Preblich is the team's moderator.
