DAKOTA COUNTY

County's bond rating gets another boostThe county now boasts the highest possible bond rating -- AAA -- from both Standard & Poor's and Moody's Investors Service.

Standard & Poor's recently upgraded Dakota County from an AA- to AAA status, citing the county's strong reserve funds and good financial management practices. The county has held a AAA status with Moody's since 2002.

The high bond ratings from both agencies -- something only five other Minnesota counties have -- helps Dakota County get the lowest possible interest rate when borrowing money to pay for capital projects.
