Kenwood Trail will host Kids' Stuff sale A Kids' Stuff garage sale will be held on Saturday morning at Kenwood Trail Middle School.

The sale includes maternity and kids' clothes, games, books, baby gear and more. It will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the school, located at 19455 Kenwood Trail in Lakeville. Adults pay $1 admission until 11 a.m.

All proceeds will go to Lakeville Early Childhood Family Education programs.

Lakeville seeks award nominations Lakeville schools are looking for names to put in the hat for the 2009 Friends of Education Awards.

Nominees can be School District employees or community members who have contributed to local education. The School District seeks to honor people in these categories: human service, civic leadership, business partnerships, volunteer service, distinguished service, education and the arts.

Pick up nomination forms at any Lakeville school building or online at www.isd194.k12.mn.us/friends.htm. They're due by Friday.

Carnival will raise money for schools Prior Lake High School will host a huge carnival for kids on Saturday that volunteers run every year to raise money for local schools.

The carnival, which runs from noon to 6 p.m., is billed as one of the biggest of its kind in the state, with 650 volunteers running the show this weekend. It features 80 games and activities, including a haunted house and Wizard of Oz attraction that even has a tornado. There's also a silent auction for adults. Admission is free, and most games cost 50 cents.

The event benefits the Prior Lake-Savage School District's elementary schools, and is run by parent, teacher and child organizations from each building. For more information, go to www.ptccarnival.com.

Bike drive will help Valley Middle School Got a bike that's collecting dust in the garage? Consider donating it to Valley Middle School, which is holding a bicycle drive next week.

The bikes will be fixed up and distributed to students who need them, along with helmets and locks donated by local businesses. The Apple Valley Police Department will register the bikes, too.

Gently used bikes can be dropped off between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. next Monday through Friday at the school, which is located at 900 Gardenview Drive, Apple Valley.
