Traffic. A 20-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested for false information to a police officer and driving after suspension after being stopped for a minor traffic violation at 144th Street W. and Ebony Lane.

JUNE 15

Found property. Nineteen cans of Hamm's beer were found in an abandoned vehicle near W. 155th Street and County Road 5.

JUNE 14

Theft. Power tools and hand tools with a total value estimated at $100,000 were reported stolen in the 14800 block of Buck Hill Road.

JUNE 6

Traffic. An officer stopped an erratic driver, a 47-year-old Bloomington man, near Hwy. 13 W. and Washburn Avenue S. A portable breath test and other field sobriety tests indicated he had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or more, police said. He was charged for driving while impaired.

JUNE 3

Theft. An 18 -year-old Faribault man was arrested for shoplifting at Burnsville Mall, 14301 Burnhaven Drive.

JUNE 2

Suspicious person. Officers called to the 12800 block of Frontage Road W. arrested a 27-year-old Hopkins man for violation of an order for protection.

EAGAN

JUNE 11

Burglary. A house in the 1600 block of City View Drive was broken into and several items were stolen.

Mental health. A man who described himself as a decorated Vietnam War veteran came to the police department's lobby and asked to be put in jail. He said he wanted to spend some time in a cell so he could better appreciate his freedom. He was given information on some mental health resources, which he said he would look into.

Burglary. At a house in the 4600 block of Fairway Hills Drive, somebody took a garage door opener from a vehicle, used it to partly open the garage door, entered the home while the residents were sleeping upstairs, and stole two phones, a computer and items from a purse or wallet.

Suspicious activity. A caller in the 1800 block of Carnelian Lane reported that somebody had gone through her vehicle, although it did not appear that anything was missing. Also during the previous couple of weeks, somebody had spray-painted a picture of a bomb on her mailbox.

JUNE 10

Burglary. A home in the 4100 block of Skylark Lane was burglarized. Police collected blood evidence at the scene.

JUNE 8

Fraud. A caller in the 2000 block of Park Center Drive reported that she had discovered that somebody used her Social Security number in 2007 in Georgia.

Found property. A GPS unit that had been stolen in Apple Valley was found in the 500 block of Atlantic Hills Drive.

JUNE 7

Theft. A purse was reported stolen from a car at Wal-Mart, 1360 Town Centre Drive.

Theft. A caller in the 1600 block of Mallard Drive reported that some silverware had been stolen sometime in the past four years.

Theft. Three people ran out of Kohls, 1350 Town Centre Drive, with an undetermined amount of baby clothes and women's shoes.

Suspicious activity. A caller at Eagan Cinema, 2055 Cliff Road, reported seeing some teenagers pull clothes with tags on them out of some bushes. An officer arrived and determined the items to be stolen. Three teens were cited for shoplifting and released to their parents. The clothes were returned to Target.

Inver grove heights

MAY 26

Domestic. Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 6100 block of Carmen Avenue E. A 32-year-old Inver Grove Heights man was arrested for violation of a no-contact order and contempt of court for willful disobedience of a court mandate.

Rosemount

JUNE 21

Theft. A caller in the 13800 block of Autumnwood Avenue reported a theft from a vehicle.

JUNE 20

Theft. A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 14800 block of Bittersweet Court.

Theft. A bicycle was stolen in the 2400 block of W. 145th Street.

JUNE 8

Burglary. A burglary was reported at a business near E. 152nd Street and Blaine Avenue.

JUNE 6

Disorderly conduct. A 48-year-old Rosemount man was arrested for disturbing the peace and obstructing the legal process after police were dispatched to a fight reported in the 4300 block of 158th Court West.

Theft. A vehicle was reported stolen in the 15700 block of Cardinal Circle.

SOUTH ST. PAUL

JUNE 28

Theft. Somebody stole $150 in cash, a checkbook and a GPS unit from a vehicle in the 300 block of 14th Avenue S.

JUNE 27

Burglary. Somebody broke into Fairway Flyerz, the disc golf vendor at Kaposia Park, overnight and stole a cash box containing about $200, hats, 60 golf discs, 12 cans of Red Bull and some software.

Theft. A Star Tribune newspaper vending machine was reported stolen from the intersection of South Street and 5th Avenue S.

Theft. Police cited a South St. Paul man, 56, for stealing a package of sausages from Knowlan's at 225 13th Av. S.

JUNE 26

Property damage. A caller said that two men punched, kicked and knocked over a Pioneer Press newspaper vending machine at the corner of 5th Avenue and 5th Street. An officer found two men nearby; they initially denied having knocked over the box, but when told a witness saw them do it, they admitted it but said it was an accident, according to police reports. The officer asked one of the men why his hand was bleeding, and he said that it must have happened accidentally when he bumped into the paper box. The officer observed that the box was mangled and the front display pane was smashed. Both men were issued citations for criminal damage to property.

JUNE 23

Threats. A caller told police that while he was babysitting at somebody else's house, two men came to the door and one of them, who is known only by the nickname "Miami," told him he had a marijuana plant that belonged to him. The caller said he told the man he didn't know what he was talking about, but the man threatened to come back with a gun if the plant was not returned.

Theft. An iPod, an iPod dock, an iTrip transmitter, a phone charger and a GPS unit were reportedly taken from a vehicle in the 500 block of 1st Avenue S.
