MARCH 24

Errant texting. An officer received a call from a man concerned about a text message that stated: "Hey...do you think I could steal your daughter for awhile?" The man was concerned because he has a young daughter. He gave the officer the telephone number from which the text was sent, and the officer contacted the sender, who was quite surprised. He had thought he was texting his girlfriend's mother, the officer said.

Burnsville

MARCH 29

Traffic. A 23-year-old Burnsville man was stopped for careless driving near his home. He was charged with drunken driving, having an open bottle in his car, careless driving and having no proof on insurance.

MARCH 30

Burglary. An officer responding to a report of a burglary in the 2000 block of 117th St. E. saw two males running and gave pursuit. An 18- and a 19-year-old from Burnsville were arrested for fleeing an officer, consumption of alcohol by a person under 21, burglary and first-degree assault.

Eagan

MARCH 30

Property damage. Police responded to a call in the 1500 block of Blackhawk Hills Road in which one resident reported his house was hit by paint balls during the night. The officer noted that a house down the block also had been hit.

APRIL 2

Traffic. An officer stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 169 at W. 133rd Street. The adult male driver was cited for speeding and driving after suspension, an adult male passenger was cited for underage consumption of alcohol, and a juvenile female was cited for a curfew violation and released to her mother.

APRIL 3

Traffic. Police received a report of an erratic driver on Hwy. 169 south of Bluff Drive. The juvenile male driver was cited for failure to stay in his lane and his juvenile female passenger was cited for a seat-belt violation.

Lakeville

MARCH 2

K-9 assistance. Officers responding to a report of car prowlers in a residential neighborhood located one suspect, but were sure others were hiding. A short time later a K-9 officer and his partner, Shadow, arrived. The officer let Shadow bark just a few times and the other three subjects came out of the dark and turned themselves in, police said.

APRIL 14

Theft. Police received a report from a man who said he had purchased two Twins tickets on Craigslist. He later found them to be fake when he tried to enter Target Field.

Savage

MARCH 27

Property damage. A resident of the 14800 block of Hillside Trail reported that the tire of his friend's vehicle had been slashed while it was parked in front of his residence.

MARCH 28

Curfew. Officers received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the 14400 block of Oconnell Road. Teenagers were found in the vehicle. They were advised about curfew violation, and tobacco in their possession was confiscated and destroyed. No one was charged.

Traffic. Near W. Hwy. 13 and S. Vernon Avenue, a 44-year-old Burnsville man was arrested for second-degree drunken driving and for failing to move over when passing a stopped emergency vehicle.

MARCH 29

Drugs. A 19-year-old male from Savage was cited for driving after suspension of his license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after an officer made a traffic stop at the intersection of S. Hwy. 13 and Connelly Parkway.
