Apple valley

AUG. 24

Theft. Someone stole a GPS unit and golf clubs from an unlocked vehicle in the 4700 block of 138th Street.

AUG. 28

Theft. A hair stylist at Great Clips at 7875 150th Street reported that someone had stolen five pairs of her cutting shears and a straight razor, total value $500, from her work station. That day she had only had one customer come in for a cut. When officers went to the customer's house, they saw the woman's vehicle in the driveway, and the missing hair supplies were lying on the front seat, police said. When officers knocked on the door, there was no answer, so they towed the car to the police station. The woman went to the police station and said she didn't know how the stolen goods got into her car. She was released pending criminal charges.

BURNSVILLE

AUG. 24

Drugs. Drug activity was reported in the 200 block of River Woods Lane. An adult was arrested.

Property damage. Damage to property was reported in the 14500 block of Chateau Court.

EAGAN

AUG. 24

Theft. A couple of mailboxes were reported stolen in the 3800 block of Overlook Court.

Property damage. Animal intestines were dumped on a step in the 3200 block of Black Oak Drive.

Theft. Four boys were caught shoplifting at the Dollar Tree at 1960 Cliff Lake Road. The boys said they were approached by a group of girls who told them to steal airhorns and condoms or they would get beaten up and their bikes would be stolen. The boys stole the airhorns, police said, but they didn't know what condoms were. They said they gave the airhorns to the girls, who left. The Dollar Tree had video of the boys and the girls, police said.

LAKEVILLE

AUG. 23

Assault. There was a report of terrorist threats or intimidation in the 16100 block of Flagstaff Court S.

AUG. 24

Theft. There was theft from a vehicle in the 17700 block of Firebird Path. Property taken was worth more than $1,000.

PRIOR LAKE

AUG. 18

Property damage. There was a report of vandalism in the 5800 block of SE. Industrial Lane.

AUG. 20

Fraud. A woman in the 2600 block of SW. Spring Lake Road reported that a young man had called her saying he was her grandson and that he was in jail in Canada. The young man said he needed money for bond, so she sent him money via Western Union. She received another call saying that more money was needed. A police officer told her that this was a scam.

AUG. 21

Weapons. There was a report of gunfire in the 2700 block of NW. Wilds Lane. It turned out there was a Pow Wow that included fireworks.

AUG. 24

Theft. Cigarettes were reportedly stolen from unlocked vehicles in the 5300 block of SE. Robinson Circle. The missing merchandise was valued at $62.50.

FARMINGTON

AUG. 24

Suspicious person. Suspicious activity was reported in the 18500 block of Pilot Knob Road.

AUG. 25

Theft. Gas was stolen at a station in the 900 block of 8th Street.

JORDAN

AUG. 18

Property damage. An off-duty police officer reported damage to the department's speed trailer that was parked in the 6000 block of W. 190th Street during the Scott County Fair. The glass covering the speed display had been shattered.

AUG. 18

Drunken driving. An officer responded in the area of Mendota Lane to report of a man who had struck two mailboxes with his vehicle before parking at his residence several driveways away. The man was arrested for DWI.

AUG. 22

Weapons. A 13-year-old male reported in the area of Elm Lane that a 9-year-old male had a BB gun and had threatened him with bodily injury. An officer spoke with the 9-year-old and his grandparent.

AUG. 26

Suspicious person. An officer responded to the 200 block of Liberty Lane regarding a report of a prowler. The officer made contact with a juvenile male who said he had been knocking on the window of a friend's house. The officer transported the boy home and gave him a citation for a curfew violation.

ROSEMOUNT

AUG. 22

Property damage. Damage to a vehicle was reported near December Trail and Diamond Path.

SAVAGE

AUG. 23

Theft. Candy and a squeegee were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 13400 block of S. Zarthan Avenue.

Property damage. A man in the 5600 block of W. 134th Street reported that someone spray-painted an obscene picture on the back window of his vehicle. Estimated damage was $300.

AUG. 25

Mischief. An officer on patrol in the 14200 block of O'Connell Road reported that a sprinkler system at a business had been contaminated with soap.

SCOTT COUNTY

AUG. 25

Found property. A wallet was found at the Holiday station at 12681 Chestnut Blvd.

AUG. 20

Property damage. Two juveniles were spotted tagging train cars in the yard near Johnson Memorial Drive and Bluff Drive.

AUG. 23

Theft. Jewelry was reported stolen in the 19400 block of Oelke Drive.

SHAKOPEE

AUG. 24

Drugs. A 19-year-old was arrested for sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of S. Canterbury Road. A 20-year-old also was arrested for possession.

SOUTH ST. PAUL

AUG. 27

Fraud. A 21-year-old woman who recently moved to South St. Paul reported a case of identity fraud. She had applied with Comcast for cable for her apartment, but the company informed her she had to pay an outstanding debt of $743.01 before getting service. Comcast informed her that a customer using her name and social security number had run up the bill at a St. Paul residence, according to police reports.

AUG. 31

Theft. A woman said she had hosted a grandchild's birthday at her home in the 200 block of 11th Avenue North. The next day, she noticed her checkbook and $100 in cash were missing from her purse.

WEST ST. PAUL

AUG. 24

Property found. A wallet with identification was found among some pine trees in the 2000 block of Charlton Street.

Disturbing the peace. A man was being loud and demanding food and water at the Rainbow Foods located at 1660 Robert St. S. He had been in the store claiming that he had been hit with a cart. The man agreed to leave to avoid being reported for criminal trespassing.

AUG. 25

Burglary. A pistol was reported stolen from an apartment in the 1500 block of Bellows Street. However, the son of the man who reported the crime said his father had been reporting random thefts and misplacement of items for months, according to police reports.

Disturbing the peace. A homeless man was said to be begging for money near the Forty Acres Liquor store at 816 Dodd Road. A neighbor said the man was not asking for money but wanted to buy a beer for $1. The neighbor said he was going to help him.

AUG. 30

Suspicious person. A man reportedly approached children who were in a kiddie pool in the 1200 block of Kruse Street. It was later learned that the man had a mental disorder, police said.

Suspicious person. Police received a report about a car with its flashing lights on in the parking lot of the KMart at 50 Signal Hills Drive; two toddlers had been left sleeping in the car. The father had run into the store to check to see if his wife was going to leave work on time. An officer spoke to the man about using better judgment.
