Theft. Somebody attempted to steal a boat and trailer parked in an alley behind a house in the 400 block of 6th Avenue S. The culprit had cut the padlock on the hitch's tongue, straightened the wing arm on the tongue and inserted the pin so the trailer could get hooked to a vehicle. The boat had been pulled about six feet up the alley, but the responding officer said it looked like the potential thief stopped when the side of the boat came too close to the garage wall and prevented the boat from further movement.
Vandalism. Somebody spray-painted "YF" and "6 DEEP" on a Chrysler van that was parked in the 1700 block of Southview Boulevard. The paint easily washed off. Police believe the graffiti might be gang related.
