PRIOR LAKE
Meeting soon on plans for downtown
City officials in Prior Lake are inviting residents to what they're calling a "critical" meeting on the reshaping of roads downtown.
The session is Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the council chambers in City Hall.
Three options for recasting traffic flow have been distilled out of a much longer list. They are posted online on the city's website, www.cityofpriorlake.com.
The council will make its call on the matter after the meeting, based in part on citizen reactions.
The issue is how to keep south downtown viable, and traffic moving, as congestion rises on the main roads and some accesses are blocked.
SAVAGE
City holds fire-station Halloween event
Hundreds of kids will turn up for the Savage Fire Department's Halloween open house, which takes place Oct. 31.
The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. and is meant to provide a safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating.
Kids under 12 are encouraged to wear costumes to the city fire station at 14321 O'Connell Road. There will be games, prizes and refreshments.
