LAKEVILLE
Push-ups for veterans A Lakeville health club will participate in a "push-ups for charity" event to raise money for wounded war veterans.
The event is March 20 at Puravida Fitness, one of about 100 clubs that will take part in the effort, said Puravida owner Erik Peacock. Participants collect pledges, asking for donations of 50 cents to $1 for each push-up they can complete in 90 seconds.
"Participants don't have to do thousands of push-ups, just as many as they can do in 90 seconds, with an eye towards setting a new personal record," Peacock said in a news release.
Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information, see www.pushupsforvets.viprespond.com.
Puravida Fitness is at 10551 W. 165th St., Lakeville.
