Sotomayor biographer to speak SaturdayFormer Shakopee resident Antonia Felix will discuss her book on Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor during a visit to the Shakopee Library on Saturday.
Copies of her book, "Sonia Sotomayor: the True American Dream," will be available for purchase and signing. The free event starts at 1:30 p.m. in the library's large meeting room.
The book, released on July 6, tells the story of how the daughter of Puerto Rican immigrants became the first Hispanic and third woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Felix conducted dozens of interviews with relatives, colleagues, co-workers and other figures from Sotomayor's life, according to a news release.
Felix also wrote the first biographies of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former First Lady Laura Bush, former EPA director Christine Todd Whitman and Gen. Wesley Clark, according to her publisher.
