South Metro Chorale sets holiday concerts
The Prior Lake-based South Metro Chorale will hold a pair of concerts showcasing classical Christmas carols by renowned composers on Dec. 14-15.
The 42-member chorus, directed by Russell Adrian, will be joined by harpist Stephanie Claussen and pianist Mark Bilyeu to perform "A Celebration of Carols," including Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols" and works by Paul Karvonen, Alfred Burt, Abbie Betinis, Stephen Paulus and Moses Hogan.
Abbie Betinis, a St. Paul composer whose music has been commissioned for groups such as the Minnesota Chorale and the Dale Warland Singers, worked with the chorale in preparation for the concert.
