Shakespeare festival at Caponi Art Park Caponi Art Park's annual Shakespeare festival is Friday and Saturday, with performances of "Troilus and Cressida" and "Hamlet" by the Twin Cities-based Cromulent Shakespeare Company and Minnesota Shakespeare Company.

"Troilus and Cressida," by the Cromulent players, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Friday. "Hamlet," by the Minnesota Shakespeare troupe, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

"Troilus and Cressida" is one of Shakespeare's most complex and least performed works. It tells the story of the Trojan war between Troy and Greece and the lives it destroys. It's "part history, part comedy, part drama," according to the park.

"Hamlet," meanwhile, is Shakespeare's most celebrated work, a tragedy full of murder, betrayal and best-laid plans gone wrong.

Both shows will be presented in the Theater in the Woods amphitheater at the park, 1220 Diffley Road, Eagan. Admission is free, but a $4 per-person donation is suggested to help cover costs.

Patrons also are encouraged to bring a food donation for Eagan's 150th anniversary food drive to all of Caponi Art Park's 2010 events. Food collected will be donated to the Eagan Resource Center.
