Paintings by retired LakeĀville businessman Gary Holthusan will be on display at the Robert Trail Library through September.

In a biography, Holthusan wrote that he started painting at age 6 and continued with pencil and charcoal drawing through college. After a 34-year career break, he resumed painting in retirement and completed 45 pieces, mostly landscapes, still life and portraits.

He said his painting style is realism and is modeled after artist Helen Van Wyk.

The Robert Trail Library is at 14395 S. Robert Trail. Its summer hours are 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
