IP gubernatorial candidate Rob Hahn is expected to name former legislator and perrenial candidate Thomas Harens as his running mate, a source in the campaign says.

The announcement is expected to be made this weekend.

Here's what the Star Tribune wrote about Harens in 1997:

A brand new "Christian Freedom Party" - founded by a St. Paul maverick who says he will appeal to religious voters who feel that Democrats don't care about them and that Republicans are misrepresenting true Christian values - will be on the Minnesota presidential ballot this fall.

The party is entirely the creation of Thomas Harens, a public-relations entrepreneur and self-described "flake," also a "forever-practicing Catholic" and a former (1980s) DFL legislator from St. Paul.
