'Love, SooVAC'

Sunday: Turning 15 is a big deal in the life of any teen. Driving permits, unchaperoned dates, late night parties, more fun to come. So it is at SooVAC, the saucy little south Minneapolis gallery that's celebrating its big 15th. Of course, it's throwing a party, and has invited 2,000 of its pals, all of them artists who have exhibited at SooVAC over the years. No gifts, please. Invitees were asked to send a work of art on a postcard. All the cards will be displayed and for sale. A whole lot of smart young talent has gotten a boost from SooVAC over the years; expect more at the celebration. (3-9 p.m. Sun. Free. Soo Visual Arts Center, 2909 Bryant Av. S., Mpls. 612-871-2263, soovac.org.) Mary Abbe

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
