Mohamed Barre, who works as a child-support officer for Hennepin County, is also a photographer on a mission to build a bigger-picture view of his native culture. He will exhibit some of his work at a Somali photo and art show this evening in northeast Minneapolis. Barre said his intentions are both to give the public at large a window into Somali life and to remind his fellow Somalis of the necessity of art in everyone's lives, "especially when it starts getting too cold to be outside, you can appreciate art indoors." The exhibit is sponsored by MN 6 1 Somali Family Advancement Center and KismaayoDaily.com. 4- 9 p.m. Friday, Bottineau Commons, 1808 University Av. N.E., Minneapolis.
