Soggy and cold for first White Sox game at Target Field

Slowey vs. Garcia if the rain tapers as predicted

May 11, 2010 at 10:27PM

The warning track at Target Field has some standing water, but the rest of the field looks fine (at least the part that's not covered by the tarp), so if the forecast is right, and there's a diminishing chance of rain into the evening, it looks like the Twins and White Sox will play.

For now, it's sprinkling, but stay tuned.

As posted earlier, the Twins have placed J.J. Hardy on the DL, and recalled Matt Tolbert from Class AAA Rochester. Brendan Harris gets the start at shortstop tonight. Joe Mauer is back behind the plate.

Update: LHP Jose Mijares is here. He'll likely be activated from the DL if Mauer comes out of tonight's catching assignment OK. The move, which wouldn't happen until Wednesday, likely would be sending Wilson Ramos back to Class AAA Rochester.
