A Minnetonka ballroom specialist has advanced to the next round of the Fox TV show So You Think You Dance -- along with his dancing eyebrows and overbearing personality. Gene Bersten was given mucho airtime on the show, bragging about his prowess in the Latin style -- which he called "the sezzy dance." He set his sights on ballroom judge Mary Murphy before hitting the stage for his audition, recorded over the summer in Boston: "The girls just get mesmerized by these motions, and they're gonna call in and vote. Now Mary, on the other hand, she's gonna get on fire today after she sees me dance." He then went on to schmooze with host Cat Deeley, who rolled her eyes when he asked if he had the sezzy look. After his strong audition, Murphy said, "You're a hottie-pototty; there's no doubt about it" -- which prompted Bersten to fully unbutton his mostly unbuttoned shirt. But then she and guest judge Tyce Diorio went on to criticize Bersten's constant mugging while he dances, complete with highly unsezzy eyebrow lifting. Bersten was sent to a midway round to see if he could learn some choreography that wasn't sezzy before being given a pass to the show's next round in Las Vegas -- which means he won't be going away anytime soon.
