A storm that began on Sunday will bring 1-3 inches of snow to most of the U.K.and Ireland on Monday. Into Monday afternoon, as much as 3-6 inches will fallin the higher elevations of England, Wales and Ireland.
London and Dublin will have an inch or two of snow from the storm. The highermountains in Wales and Ireland will bear the brunt of the storm.
Cities across the U.K. are conserving salt. Travel will become very difficultwith less salt being used to melt snow on roadways. Numerous sporting eventshave already been canceled. Trains are running reduced schedules through thechunnel from England to France as well.
A snowstorm last week brought as much as a foot to parts of England. Very coldair then followed the storm. Temperatures in parts of the U.K. dipped belowzero, a feat rarely achieved across the British Isles.
The good news is that this storm will not be followed by an arctic outbreak. Infact, temperatures should warm above freezing in most of the U.K. by midweek.
