Snowy and Stormy UK to Scandinavia

A series of strong late-winter storms, charged with Arctic cold and Atlanticmoisture, will sweep across northern UK to Scandinavia right through the end ofthe week.This storminess will break the relatively settled, dry weather that dominatedthe first week of the month in much of northern Europe.

The first of the storms, a sprawling gale center off arctic Norway, will bringsharply colder weather at midweek across UK to Scandinavia.

Cold rain, snow and even small hail, whipped by winds reaching gale force attimes, will blast areas from Scotland to western Norway. Heavy falls of snowwill cover the hills of northern Scotland along with many areas of Norway awayfrom the open sea.

Fast on the heels of this storm, another storm will scoot from the NorthAtlantic Ocean across northern UK to the Baltic Sea between late Wednesday andearly Friday.

High winds, snow and cold rain will also fly as this storm sails eastward.

Further storms could bring substantial snow from northern UK and even Irelandeast into Scandinavia on Friday to Sunday.
