The snowstorm bearing down on Colorado and southeastern Wyoming today intoSaturday will prove to be greatly disruptive. Travelers should be prepared fornumerous headaches, while power outages could ensue.The storm will dump a substantial amount of snow across the Interstate 25corridor from Cheyenne to Colorado Springs, as well as over the foothills andmountains to the west. The rate at which the snow will fall will quickly allowroads to become slushy and treacherous. Conditions will worsen as winds drivethe snow to the ground and reduce visibility.

The hazardous driving conditions have already led to officials closingportions of interstates 25 and 80 early this morning. More roads may get shutdown.

Airline passengers will not be immune to the disruptive snow. Numerousflight delays and cancellations could be declared today and Saturday.

Additional threats will accompany this storm due to the heavy, wet nature ofthe snow. Power outages could put many in the dark if the weight of the snowdowns tree branches and power lines. Flat rooftops may also collapse.
