Snowstorm Coming to Middle Atlantic

January 27, 2010 at 8:25PM

This storm will take dead aim at the central Atlantic region later this week. There is no escape. Like it or not, snowflakes will fly.

The winter storm will get started in Tennessee and Kentucky Friday then spreadinto the Virginias and western North Carolina late Friday and Friday night. Theaxis of the heaviest snow will run from roughly Paducah, Ky., through Beckley,W.Va., to Fredericksburg, Va. This is a little farther south than we thought itwould be a day ago.

This will be a cold storm with temperatures ranging from the teens to middle20s where it is snowing, though it probably will not be classified as ablizzard due to a lack of strong winds.

Major travel delays can be expected both on the highways and at the airports.
