Activities include an adventure race for kids in Three Rivers Parks District.

Snowshoe adventures

Minneopa State Park, 10-11 a.m. Saturday

• Meet at picnic shelter and be prepared for extreme terrain. The 2-mile hike can take 1 ½ hours. Snowshoe rentals available. (1-507-384-8890; mndnr.gov/minneopa)

Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday

• Search for animal signs and tracks while snowshoeing. Equipment and refreshments provided. Beginners welcome. Cost is $5. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation. (bit.ly/gatewayshoe)

Eastman Nature Center, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday

• Wander with the hosts of "The Wandering Naturalist" podcast of Three Rivers Parks District as they explore the woods in the winter. Snowshoes provided. This program is free and open to ages 8 and older. (bit.ly/eastmanshoe)

Cleary Lake Regional Park, 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday

2-4 p.m. Saturday

Fish Lake Regional Park
