Snowshoe hikes, special fishing weekend on tap at state, regional parks

Tettegouche State Park

1-4 p.m. Saturday

• Snowshoe up to the Cascades of the Baptism River with a naturalist, and return back down to Lake Superior to finish. Snowshoes are available first-come, first-served. (1-218-353-8809, mndnr.gov)

Mille Lacs Kathio State Park

1-2 p.m. Saturday

• Learn about the techniques animals use to deal with cold Minnesota winters. A brief talk and how-to-snowshoe lesson will be followed by a short snowshoe hike.
