Snowfall Map for Southwest, Texas

A major winter storm will impact air and ground transportation as it spreadssnow, some heavy, eastward over the Southwest to the heart of Texas over thenext couple of days.The heaviest snow today will blanket the Arizona rim county, includingFlagstaff. Snowfall there will approach a foot, with significant impact alonghighways I-17 and I-40.

Several inches of snow will also pile up through tonight elsewhere in northernArizona and southern Utah into Colorado and New Mexico.

Tonight and Tuesday, the axis of heaviest snow will settle southeastward overNew Mexico and into western Texas, then eastward into central Texas. Along theway, snowfall of 3 to 6 inches will be widespread. The northern edge ofdisruptive snowfall will reach into Dallas-Fort Worth Tuesday.

Snow this far south and east over Texas will likely have a major impact uponair and ground traffic. For instance, travel along busy highways I-10, I-20 andI-40 could be especially difficult tonight and Tuesday.
