The storm impacting the eastern third of the nation will mainly be a rain andthunderstorm event. The exception will be along the storm's backside whereincoming colder air will cause a band of snow to spread over parts of theMidwest.Snow that started today falling over north-central Texas and neighboring partsof Oklahoma will spread to the Ozark Mountains of northwestern Arkansas andsouthern Missouri this afternoon. Little, if any, snow accumulation isexpected.

Snow may start to whiten the ground after dark tonight from southeasternMissouri to the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Snow amounts will average between1 and 3 inches. Motorists should prepare for slushy and slippery roads.

Northeastern parts of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan may receive slightly over3 inches as the snow continues into Thursday.

Areas surrounding the central border of Quebec and Ontario are where the stormwill drop 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) tonight into Thursday.
