While eastern parts of the United States continue to deal with summerlikeheat, the West remains unseasonably chilly. In addition to the cool air, astorm system passing through the northern Rockies will dump more snow acrossthe area. Snow will blanket the ground in parts of Idaho, Wyoming, Montana andsouthern Alberta.The heaviest snow is expected along the eastern slopes of western Montana.

Areas around Cut Bank can expect over a foot of snow through Tuesday night.

Lighter snow accumulations are also expected across the Washington and OregonCascades.

The storm system will move off to the east Wednesday and Thursday, bringingan end to the heavy snow. Despite the dry weather, temperatures are notexpected to rise significantly until the end of the week.
