Snow spread into the heart of the Intermountain along with the northernRockies thanks to a strong spring storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight onWednesday through the day on Thursday, snow will fall mostly over mountains andhigh open country of Wyoming, Utah, western Colorado, southern Montana,southeastern Idaho and eastern Nevada.Highest new snowfall to at least one foot by Thursday evening will cover thehighland spine of central and northern Utah into western Wyoming and easternIdaho. Drivers on highways I-70, I-80 and I-84 may encounter heavy snow andvery slow travel through the passes.

Snowfall will vary across greater Salt Lake City with amounts to at least 6inches along the foot of the Wasatch Range, but much less over the open valleyfloor.

On Thursday night and Friday, the snow will spread east of the Rockies inColorado and Wyoming. Wet snow will become heavy over Denver.
