Snow Map of Northeastern Blizzard

Snowfall will easily top one foot by Sunday night at the heart of a severewinter storm gripping the Northeast and neighboring Canada.Snowfall in much of Maine to northern New Hampshire and northern Vermont willreach 12 to 18 inches as of Sunday evening. And this is windswept, driftedsnow-whipped to blizzard-like intensity on Saturday night and early Sunday.

Neighboring New Brunswick, as well as Quebec's Eastern townships will share inthis heavy dump of snow.

Up to a foot of snow will blanket Portland, Maine. Still farther south,snowfall will taper off sharply. Nonetheless, at least 6 inches, a numberalready reached locally as of early afternoon, will cover Boston with a leasta few inches from Providence to Albany.

Effect of the snow will yield difficult to impossible travel over northern NewEngland with hazardous trough reaching into eastern New York state throughcentral and southeastern New England. Flight delays and cancellations willresult.
