Snow in Atlanta? Really?!

April 6, 2009 at 4:30PM

While the calendar shows April, the weather will appear more like January inthe South. Not only will temperature be downright cold for this time of yeartoday, but winds will be gusty, and a few snowflakes are possible during themorning hours Tuesday as far south as Atlanta!Rain showers will mix with wet snow this afternoon in central and easternTennessee and, as colder air continues its assault on the south, snowflakeswill fly over much of Tennessee and the southern Appalachians tonight. In fact, from tonight through Tuesday, several inches of snow are likely in the Smokiesabove 3,500 feet. Lesser amounts, from 1-2 inches, are possible in valleylocations. On the whole, the cold and wind will have the greatest impact... well, atleast be the more obnoxious impact, but snow will be the bigger story formany.
