Sneak peek at the Thymes sale

This year's Thymes sale looks to be the largest ever, at least in square footage.

I got a sneak peek of this year's arguably most anticipated sale, the Thymes warehouse blowout (63 St. Anthony Parkway, Mpls., 612-338-4471).

The space, new this year, is the largest they've ever used. The rows of product go on forever. It's such a large sale that the fragrances haven't overwhelmed the space yet, as in previous years.

It's the usual sale routine. Items at the sale are overstocks, discontinued scents and packaging changes. Prices range from a quarter for nail brushes to $20 for certain box sets.

A sampling:

50 cents: small soaps

$1: glass containers for refresher oils, silk bags, wood dowels(dowels???)

$2 Bath salt envelopes, bags of samples, fragrance oils, cuticle cream, ironing water, sink set holders.

$3: baskets, colognes, mists, small candles

$6 2-bar soap sets, body scrubs, washes and oils, candles, conditioner, bath/hand washes, lotions, shampoos, small gift sets and towels.

$8 AHA creams

$15 Gift, travel and sink sets

$$20 Green box gift sets

Scents that I saw walking through included Red Cherie, Coco Monoi, Ecvalyptus, Azur, Wild Ginger, Olive Leaf, Filigree, Goldleaf and Lavender. There were lots of lotions and body washes but I saw fewer bars of soap this year.

I suggest bringing a cart on wheels (a 2-wheeler or a suitcase if you hoard this stuff). It's a long way to carry and probably a long walk to park.

Sale hours are Thurs. & Fri, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Sat., 9:00am - 2:00pm. Enjoy.
