A small airplane flying a medical patient to Illinois made an emergency landing in a Lake Elmo field this morning. Emergency vehicles responded but none of the three people aboard was injured, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

The plane landed about 10:40 a.m. south of Julep Avenue N. between Inwood Avenue N. and Keats Avenue N., north of I-94. It was flying from Holman Field in St. Paul to Waukegan Regional Airport in Waukegan, Ill.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will inspect the Cessna 210 Series airplane and investigate the incident, the Sheriff's Office said.
