Icy roads and an unbuckled seat belt proved deadly for a 45-year-old driver in southwestern Minnesota about 6 a.m. Monday.
Richard E. Latten of Luverne, Minn., was driving his Jeep west on Interstate 90, west of Luverne, when he was thrown from his vehicle as it rolled in a ditch, the State Patrol said.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time, the patrol said.
