Al-Bahira Dance Theater, led by Mirah Ammal, offers up love, magic, revenge and Middle Eastern music and dance in this work drawn from European-American, Persian, Egyptian and Palestinian tales. Well suited for children, the story encompasses a powerful bird-like genie (Ammal), an evil queen, separated siblings, and a couple of sly Prince references. "Sleeper" is best when Ammal spotlights her sense of humor, particularly when choreographing a fluttery flock of pink flamingo performers, but she is also an accomplished belly dancer and her passionate interpretive movement is central to the show. FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
