Skyway breakfast on Friday will recognize Lynx

Up early? There is a place in the downtown Minneapolis skyway to get a free breakfast on Friday.

September 15, 2011 at 2:38PM

Lynx front office staff will be offering Skyway walkers donuts, juice and coffee between 6:30 and 9 a.m. Friday outside the Timberwolves and Lynx administrative offices in Target Center.

It's the Lynx way to stir up more interest in the team's first playoff game since 2004. The Lynx play San Antonio at 8 p.m. at Target Center. A good crowd is expected -- the upper deck is being opened -- but there is room for more fans.

So will Maya, Lindsay and Seimone be there? Sorry, no. They need their rest.

But Prowl, the Lynx mascot, will be there, wide eyed and bushy tailed. Gee, I better grab my camera and set my alarm clock now. Me and Prowl bonding, what a picture that would make? I get scared for him every time he climbs up and stands on top of the ladder and leading the "YMCA" song at Lynx games. But he never falls.
