The sister of a suspected robber who was shot to death last week has been arrested by Minneapolis police, a department spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
Octavia Marberry, 20, of Minneapolis, is being held at the Hennepin County jail on allegations of fraud and aggravated robbery, according to jail records. She was arrested Tuesday afternoon, records show.
Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Bill Palmer said Marberry was with her brother, Darren Evanovich, 23, of Minneapolis, on Oct. 20 during an attempted armed robbery of a 53-year-old woman in the parking lot of Cub Foods at 2850 26th Av. S. The robbery was interrupted by an armed witness, who shot and killed Evanovich.
The shooter's name has not been publicly released. He has a permit to carry a pistol, according to the Minneapolis police. The Hennepin County attorney's office is reviewing the case to determine whether the shooting was a crime.
