Sinead O'Connor has been missing for over 24 hours, police in Wilmette, Illinois told TheWrap on Monday, and they're actively searching for her.

"The Wilmette police is seeking to check the well-being of Sinead O'Connor," the department said in a statement. "O'Connor reportedly left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6:00 AM and has not returned. A caller expressed concern for her well-being and no other information is available at this time."

O'Connor threatened suicide last year in a Facebook post, which claimed she took "an overdose."

"I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name," the Irish singer wrote in the 450-word letter in November. "If I wasn't posting this, my kids and family wouldn't even find out. Was dead for another fortnight since none of them bother their hole with me for a minute."

Police in Dublin eventually confirmed that O'Connor had been "found safe and well" and was receiving medical treatment. She has a history of bizarre Facebook posts, once calling her family "child stealing murderers"

O'Connor has been in the news since music icon Prince died last month. Prince wrote O'Connor's hit song "Nothing Compares 2 U," and has since been sued by Arsenio Hall for claims she made on social media.

"Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades…. Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince's and Eddie Murphy's bitch)," O'Connor wrote on Facebook easier this month. "Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sheriff's office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy's house. You best get tidying your man cave."

Hall's representative denounced O'Connor's claims as "absolutely false, ridiculous and absurd." She also claimed recently that Prince once punched her and said his unreleased music should be "cremated."
