A storm moving southward through the Intermountain West will soon be causingsnow in the southern tier of the country. The snow will begin in New MexicoThursday then spread into western Texas Thursday night. The mountains ofnorthern New Mexico could get up to 10 inches from the storm. Friday, the snowwill reach into eastern Texas and Louisiana where a couple of inches arepossible. Though not a big deal up north, it is quite unusual to get that muchsnow so far south so early in the season.Friday night, the snow will spread into Mississippi, Alabama and northernGeorgia where there also may be a whitening of the ground.
