Shut down for hours after fatal crash, Hwy. 12 reopens near Maple Plain

Hwy. 12 near Maple Plain reopened Friday night after being closed because of a fatal crash, according to authorities.

The highway was closed in both directions between Valley Road and Railroad Avenue west of Maple Plain for about four hours, according to the West Hennepin Police Department.

A vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a semitrailer truck near County Road 92, according to media reports. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.
