Visanthe Shiancoe acted as if he could not understand the question after Wednesday's practice when asked if he expected to play on Sunday against the New York Giants. The Vikings tight end was just being a loyal employee because of the team's preference that players not discuss how they are doing physically.
But the Vikings injury report revealed that Shiancoe did not practice Wednesday because of what was listed as a thigh injury that he suffered Monday night in Chicago.
Also sitting out Wednesday was defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, who started in place of Pat Williams (elbow) on Monday but ended up injuring his thumb.
Limited for the Vikings were safety Eric Frampton (ankle); guard Steve Hutchinson (shoulder); center John Sullivan (knee); cornerback Antoine Winfield (foot); and Pat Williams.
The Giants injury report includes 11 players. Running back Brandon Jacobs (knee) is out for Sunday's game. Players who did not practice Wednesday include Ahmad Bradshaw (ankles, foot); wide receiver Mario Manningham (shoulder); tackle Kareem McKenzie (knee); and cornerbacks Aaron Ross (hamstring) and Corey Webster (knee).
Five players were limited, including defensive tackle Chris Canty (knee); wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (hamstring); defensive tackle Fred Robbins (lower leg); guard Rich Seubert (knee); and quarterback Eli Manning (foot).
