The CW's "Dawn of the Justice League" television special was the gift that kept on giving for comic book fans on Tuesday night.

Along with the debut of the new "Suicide Squad" trailer, the show teased the first official footage of Warner Bros.' "Wonder Woman" movie, detailing the origin story of the Amazon princess and demigoddess daughter of Zeus.

"We are going to see her coming of age, the entire history … what's her mission," actress Gal Gadot, who plays Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, says in an interview sliced with sequences of the still-filming superhero film.

"Telling a story of this now is pivotal and important, the story of a very powerful woman," co-star Chris Pine continues, as Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor (Pine) are seen galloping through a forest on horseback.

Along with the 2017 "Wonder Woman" movie, the feminist cultural icon will appear in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, which was also featured on the "Dawn of the Justice League" special.

Last week, Danish actress Connie Nielsen, best known for her portrayal of the Roman queen in "Gladiator," was cast to play Gadot's mom, Hippoyta, the queen of the Amazons.

"Wonder Woman" also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis and Ewen Bremner.

It has begun shooting in the U.K. and Italy and is slated for a June 23, 2017, release.
