Some Star Trek geegaws are up for auction. News like that makes AP writers bring their A-game:

Sigh. The money will benefit the Roddenberry Foundation, which supports "children, education, and the environment. Enter Kirk: The Shat is contributing some stuff as well, including his motorcycle, "his Golden Globe nomination certificate and the plaque he was presented when he got a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 1983." Also known as "stuff in a box in the garage." If you're worried that Shatner's hard up for cash, it's all going for a charity. Shatner recently sold a kidney stone for a charity, too:

Odd how no one clamors for "T.J. Hooker" memorabilia; surely there's something left over, like a bottle of glue used to hold the toupee. Or something from his next TV show, which is - seriously - based on Twitter account whose name doesn't belong in a family paper.

Shatner turns 80 next year, by the way. May he live long and -
